Devon and Lizzy

I went through a tub of clothes that Mom kept that Emily wore when she was a baby. I pulled out a few outfits that Elizabeth could wear. The red outfit and the pink dress both belonged to Emily. I love, love, love, the little hat that goes with the red outfit. Devon's new thing is acting like he is driving cars. He will take any opportunity to get into one of our cars and hold onto the steering wheel. In these pictures he is "driving" Grandpa Kevin's truck.

Father's Day Weekend

We went up to Tetonia for Father's Day weekend since Craig was all by his lonesome. (Kathy was visiting Crystal's family in Hurricane.) Devon finally rode the motorbike with Craig. Devon was scared of riding things like that last year, but he was only 18 months old when he attempted to ride a snowmobile. Now he tells Papa that he wants to ride the "vroom vroom". Elizabeth has a tooth now, and she is going on 8 months old. She just gets prettier every day. People often comment on both hers and Devon's eyes. They are such a gorgeous blue. In the picture of Elizabeth and I, you can even see the Tetons a little bit.

The Zoo Continued

I think that the flamingos always look neat, but Devon's favorites are usually the monkeys. He would let us know when he wanted to look at something else because he would say, "More animals" or something like that. I'm not sure who the random little girl is with Smokey the Bear, but I was trying to get Devon to sit on Smokey's lap, but he wouldn't, so as I was taking the picture, this little girl ran over to Smokey. Devon got a sticker and a hat like Smokey's. I read an interesting thing about zebras that I didn't know. If you look closely in the picture of the zebras, you can see that the baby zebra laying down has brown stripes. I didn't know that when they are born their stripes start out brown and then later turn black.

Tautphaus Park Zoo

Melaleuca sponsored a free trip to the zoo on June 19 for the employees and their families. It was a pretty hot day (Bryce got sunburned pretty good), but it was fun seeing the animals and seeing what Devon thought of them. I still didn't get to see the red pandas this year. They haven't been out either time that I have come to the zoo. Of course they aren't as cool as giant pandas, but I still wanted to see them. Devon was a little timid about getting too close to the statue of the tiger. I think he thought it was real at first! We had a picnic before we went to the zoo. We bought food at Cheeseburger Factory (which I wouldn't recommend) and ate at the park.

Tautphaus Park

Once a week the kids and I go to the library, which isn't too far from Melaleuca, where Bryce works. On those days we will meet Bryce for lunch a lot of the time. We go to Tautphaus Park and have a picnic lunch and then Devon gets to play on the playground equipment for awhile. As you can see, he has a lot of fun!

Pics of the Kids

Here are just some random shots of the kids. Elizabeth is going on 7 months old now. She rolled over for the first time about a week and a half ago. I have been working a little bit with Devon on learning his numbers and colors. He can't seem to remember that four comes after three. He will start counting and go, "One, two, three, nine!" We'll keep working on it. The only color he ever seems to correctly recognize is orange. But he's still little, so we'll keep working on that, too.

Memorial Day

On Memorial Day we went to Blackfoot to two different cemeteries to see the gravestones of some of Craig and Kathy's ancestors. We are pictured in front of Bryce's grandpa's (Floyd Rowbury) gravestone. We brought lilacs from Bryce's Grandma Pauline's house to lay in front of the headstones. We enjoyed doing that for Memorial Day, and plan on making it a tradition.
