Devon's and Lizzy's rooms

Here is another angle of Elizabeth's room, and then there's Devon's room. Bryce will continue to work on converting Devon to be a Utah Jazz fan. LOL! My grandma also gave me the doll and bear that you can see in Lizzy's room. The bear belonged to my grandpa. He loved collecting things like that. Devon is enjoying having his own yard to play in. Our backyard is fenced in, which is fantastic. We bought a little kiddie pool and I'm looking forward to setting it up in the backyard for the kids to play in during the hot summer days!

More House Pics

Our master bathroom is the leopard print one, and the kids' bathroom is the palm tree one. We wanted to do some kind of Disney character decoration for the kids' bathroom, but everything seemed to be either just for boys or just for girls, so we decided on the palm trees. I think it turned out pretty cute. Our laundry area goes out to the garage, and I like the space that I have to do laundry. At our townhouse the washer and dryer were just in a little closet, so this is much nicer. Lizzy's room was fun to do. I put a Cruella De Vil barbie doll that my grandma gave me on her windowsill. (She looks just like Glenn Close. It's a cool Barbie.) We put our bookcase in her room since there really wasn't another place for it. The kids' closets are very spacious with a few shelves and double doors. We may end up painting the kids' rooms one of these days, but for now they are fine.

OUR HOUSE!!!

Here are the pictures of our house that I have been promising. I took two pictures of the kitchen; one of them is more of the dining area. I also took two pictures of our bedroom so you could see the different angles. Our bedroom is a nice size, and I especially love that we have a master bathroom and a great walk-in closet. A lot of things that used to have to stay in storage were able to fit into our closet, which was really nice. We had a housewarming party on Saturday. We had some good food and great company. It was really fun.

"Driving" Papa's truck

As I mentioned in a previous post, Devon loves getting into people's vehicles and acting like he is driving them. Here he is "driving" Papa's truck, and loving every minute of it. I don't have a lot of pictures of Bryce and Lizzy together, so I recently took this picture of them sitting together.

4th of July Weekend

We went up to Tetonia for the 4th of July. Bryce was in his friend, Larry Dietterich's, wedding as a groomsman. Larry got married on the 2nd. The wedding was outside, so the picture is kind of bright. Jared came up with us, and then Mom, Kevin, and Emily came up on Saturday evening. We went to Huntsman Springs to hear Glenn Beck speak. I had to leave early, though, because Elizabeth was just getting too fussy. It was getting late and she was tired and cold, so I took the kids and Jared and Emily and left. I was bummed since I didn't get to hear much of what Glenn Beck had to say. The program started a lot later than we thought it was going to, so by the time he started speaking, Lizzy was pretty much ready to go. We watched the Huntsman Springs fireworks from Craig and Kathy's house, and then Craig set off some that he had bought. I couldn't believe how cold it was - We were wearing blankets outside it was so cold. The weather has been perfect since Saturday, so that figures. We also went to the parade in Victor on Saturday. I helped Devon get some candy, and I even caught a High Range t-shirt. (That's where Bryce used to work.) Devon was tuckered out after all the fireworks, so Papa wrapped him up in his blankie and carried him up to bed. Emily ended up putting him into bed with her. She loves sleeping in the same room with him. Jared will kill me for putting this picture on the blog of him wearing Devon's clip-on tie. He told me I couldn't get his face in the picture, and I was like, "Yeah, right!"

Devon and Lizzy

I went through a tub of clothes that Mom kept that Emily wore when she was a baby. I pulled out a few outfits that Elizabeth could wear. The red outfit and the pink dress both belonged to Emily. I love, love, love, the little hat that goes with the red outfit. Devon's new thing is acting like he is driving cars. He will take any opportunity to get into one of our cars and hold onto the steering wheel. In these pictures he is "driving" Grandpa Kevin's truck.

Father's Day Weekend

We went up to Tetonia for Father's Day weekend since Craig was all by his lonesome. (Kathy was visiting Crystal's family in Hurricane.) Devon finally rode the motorbike with Craig. Devon was scared of riding things like that last year, but he was only 18 months old when he attempted to ride a snowmobile. Now he tells Papa that he wants to ride the "vroom vroom". Elizabeth has a tooth now, and she is going on 8 months old. She just gets prettier every day. People often comment on both hers and Devon's eyes. They are such a gorgeous blue. In the picture of Elizabeth and I, you can even see the Tetons a little bit.

The Zoo Continued

I think that the flamingos always look neat, but Devon's favorites are usually the monkeys. He would let us know when he wanted to look at something else because he would say, "More animals" or something like that. I'm not sure who the random little girl is with Smokey the Bear, but I was trying to get Devon to sit on Smokey's lap, but he wouldn't, so as I was taking the picture, this little girl ran over to Smokey. Devon got a sticker and a hat like Smokey's. I read an interesting thing about zebras that I didn't know. If you look closely in the picture of the zebras, you can see that the baby zebra laying down has brown stripes. I didn't know that when they are born their stripes start out brown and then later turn black.

Tautphaus Park Zoo

Melaleuca sponsored a free trip to the zoo on June 19 for the employees and their families. It was a pretty hot day (Bryce got sunburned pretty good), but it was fun seeing the animals and seeing what Devon thought of them. I still didn't get to see the red pandas this year. They haven't been out either time that I have come to the zoo. Of course they aren't as cool as giant pandas, but I still wanted to see them. Devon was a little timid about getting too close to the statue of the tiger. I think he thought it was real at first! We had a picnic before we went to the zoo. We bought food at Cheeseburger Factory (which I wouldn't recommend) and ate at the park.

Tautphaus Park

Once a week the kids and I go to the library, which isn't too far from Melaleuca, where Bryce works. On those days we will meet Bryce for lunch a lot of the time. We go to Tautphaus Park and have a picnic lunch and then Devon gets to play on the playground equipment for awhile. As you can see, he has a lot of fun!
