More Naperville Fun!

Devon is pictured with Nathan Warwick. Bryce became good friends with Nathan's family while on his mission. We went out to dinner with the Warwick's and then went along the river walk with them afterwards. We then went to a place that sells gelato. It is kind of like ice cream, but kind of not. It was yum, yum! Devon really liked hanging out with Nathan.

We let Devon ride the carousel at the mall in Naperville. I love that mall! It has a Disney store in it, and I just go crazy in there. It is good that we don't have one close by, or I would want to be buying stuff all the time!

After walking along the river walk, we went shopping at Barnes and Noble and then had lunch at BD's Mongolian Grill, one of Bryce's favorite places ever. (See the happiness on his face while holding his food:) After that, we went to one of my favorite places, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I adore their chocolate covered strawberries. Delicioso!

This is actually in Chicago. We rode a trolley to get us closer to where we wanted to be.

Playground

There was a little playground at the river walk in downtown Naperville. The kids loved it there! Lizzy loved swinging and going down the slides and Devon loved going all over the place!

Ah, the beautiful green trees!

This is a neat looking sculpture that is along the river walk.

Naperville, IL

We went walking downtown along the river walk one morning in Naperville. Devon ended up getting tired of all the walking after awhile. There were beautiful green, leafy trees galore and there are some neat fountains and landmarks along the river walk. Bryce is standing by something that is representing those who fell during 9/11. I had Bryce take a picture of me on the bench because there were such pretty flowers behind me, but you can't see them all that well in the picture. There are also ducks in the river, so the kids liked walking over the bridges and seeing them.

Ok, so I have no idea why the pictures doubled themselves. The blog only allows me to put on 5 pictures per post, so I'm not sure what happened. Anyway, some of these pictures were taken at McDonald's in the Play Place. We ate there for lunch right before we left for Chicago. The pictures outside were taken when we were playing with silly string. My dad brought out some cans of it and sprayed Devon and he looked like he was in shock. I don't think he had ever seen that before. But then Devon started trying to spray people, too, so he loved that. He is chasing my stepbrother, Jason, in one picture trying to spray him. It was hard for Devon to hold down the nozzle very well, so he usually wasn't able to spray the silly string very far.

Riding tractors

Devon had a blast riding tractors with Papaw. He actually got pretty good at steering all by himself. Pretty much every morning right when Devon saw my dad he would say, "I wanna go ride some tractors!" Karen, my stepmom, took Elizabeth outside to take some pictures of her by her flowers. I had to take some, too. She kept walking up and down the little bridge and she looked so cute.

Spring Mill

One day while in Indiana, we went to Spring Mill, a park that is close by Salem.

This picture was taken at my Mammaw's house.

The kids love to swing, and so do I!

Palmyra Cemetery

I couldn't remember the last time that I had been to my Papaw's grave, so we went to visit it while were in Indiana. We took a picture with his grave. His name was Raymond Libka. There is also a picture with my great grandparents, Elmer and Lucille McCutcheon. The kids are pictured with my great uncle Earl Rudolph's grave. Devon held Lizzy's hand and walked her around the cemetery. She was fine with it for awhile, but then she was done holding his hand. It was sweet seeing them walk together and hold hands, though. It was hard to get a real good picture there, because the sun was so bright in everyone's faces that we kept squinting.

Father's Day

We went to Salem, IN to visit family on June 18, so we were also there on Father's Day. We went to my Mammaw's house that day to visit with her and my Aunt Judy and Uncle Jim.

That evening, we had a picnic at Lake Salinda. Devon is feeding the ducks here. Elizabeth was throwing bread into the water, but then she started eating it instead when I handed it to her!

Bryce, Devon, and Elizabeth

Lizzy is wearing her slippers in the picture with Bryce. She loves shoes and always wants to wear them, so sometimes we are able to negotiate and get her to be satisfied with wearing slippers instead. In the other picture with Lizzy, she is sitting on a remote control Barbie car that we have. She and Devon have fun playing with it.

Silly Kids!

I just took some random cute shots of the kids a couple of months ago. Lizzy likes to "help" me dust, so here she is dusting my bedroom dresser. She is also really funny when she eats sandwiches. She opens them up and eats what's inside of them, so her bread falls all apart. You probably can't tell, but she had peanut butter all over her face in the picture with the sandwich.

For some reason, when we put Devon into time out, a lot of the time he knocks over his basketball hoop. One day he started hollering for me from his room and I came in to find him like this. I wouldn't get him out until I had taken a picture! Lizzy has her binky in a couple of these pictures, but we are done with the binky now. Yay! We were constantly losing them, so I am glad to be done with it.
