Kathy, Bryce's mom, made Devon's birthday cake. He wasn't too interested in actually eating it. It wasn't long before he dumped it on the floor! But, the rest of us really enjoyed it with vanilla ice cream. In the last two pictures, Devon is wearing some of his new clothes. Mom bought him the red sports pajamas, and Dad and Karen sent out money for us to buy Devon some presents, so we bought him this Spongebob shirt in the bottom picture.
I'm sorry it took so long to post these pictures. Our USB cable quit working on our camera, so we had to order a new one and we just got it today. So, here are the birthday party pictures. I didn't get very many pictures of Devon showing his face very well. He was too occupied playing with toys and wrapping paper! Devon got lots of new clothes, toys, and some books and movies. The party was really fun and a lot of people were able to come. But, I still can't believe that Devon is already one year old! He is walking a little bit, but usually just a few steps at a time. He also has 4 teeth now.
The other day I took Devon outside to play. He just loves being outside! He starts grinning right as we walk out the door. Devon doesn't like putting his knees on sidewalks, so he looks like Mowgli from The Jungle Book crawling around on his hands and feet! He's very apprehensive about crawling on grass. He's barely touching it in the second picture, but he never ventured out onto it. 
I have been taking Emily and Devon to Porter Park at least once a week during summer vacation. Today was our last day to go, because Emily starts school tomorrow. Emily's favorite part is the Splash Park. In the third picture, she had just gotten into the water, so she was freezing! Devon likes splashing in the water, too. Today Devon just crawled around the outside of the Splash Park, but every so often he would go back and crawl in the water. We put Devon in a swing for the first time today, too. As you can see, he absolutely loved it!
The first weekend of August, Kathy and Craig drove us down to Hurricane, UT for our nephew's, (Titan) baby blessing. Devon loves sitting outside, and he had fun with his cousin, McKinlee in the top picture. The next few pictures are of the Wright family on the day of the blessing. Tucker is 5, McKinlee is 2 1/2 and Titan is two months old. Crystal and Yates are also pictured.
Here are some miscellaneous pictures of Devon. In the top picture, he is eating one of those Graduate foods. It's just called an apple wagon wheel. They dissolve really easily. Next he is pictured with Mark Baker. Mark came to visit us the last weekend in July. He is working in Utah for now, but will be coming to school at BYU-Idaho next month. Bryce and I just took the bottom picture last night. Bryce went in to check on him and told me I had to come look at him. Of course after taking the picture, we took his leg out from between the bars.
